About Our Speakers

Thomas Stambaugh joined CIGNA HealthCare in 1997 and currently serves as CIGNA Pharmacy Management’s Chief Pharmacy Officer and Vice President, Clinical Programs and Specialty Pharmacy. He is responsible for a team of pharmacists who develop clinical programs to improve member health through an integrated approach to healthcare. He also works with CIGNA Pharmacy Management customers to understand their pharmacy benefit experience and offer solutions based on customer goals.

Thom came to CIGNA as part of the Healthsource acquisition, where he was Director of Clinical Programs. With Healthsource, he designed and developed drug utilization programs involving asthma, gastrointestinal, and narcotic medication management. Thom began his managed care career with ValueRx in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. As Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Consulting, he was responsible for implementing formulary and disease management programs for HMO clients and employer groups.

Thom received his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University and his Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.

Robert S. Gregory, R.Ph., M.S., M.B.A. is a Pharmacy Director for Aetna Pharmacy Management (APM). In this position, he is responsible for the evaluation, development, and implementation of programs that are clinically based, results-oriented, reportable, marketable, and provide value to internal and external constituents and stakeholders. He also supports Aetna Pharmacy’s initiatives relating to the integration of pharmacy with other medical programs.

Mr. Gregory has more than 28 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist and healthcare manager. Prior to working for Aetna, he was the Director of Pharmacy for Coventry Health Care and has worked in managed care in local, regional and national positions. Previous experience also includes serving as the Director of Pharmacy for the HCA and HeathTrust hospital systems in Texas for more than 10 years.

Mr. Gregory graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1977 with a B.S. in Pharmacy. He obtained an M.S. in Hospital Pharmacy Practice in 1980 from Massachussetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, and his M.B.A. from The University of Houston in 1992.

Mr. Gregory is a licensed pharmacist in the states of New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Missouri. He is a former president of the Panhandle Society of Health-System Pharmacists, board member of the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP), and chair of the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy’s (AMCP) Professional Practice Committee. He is currently an active member of AMCP.
