PROXYMED EXTENDS DATE OF 10-K FILING
ProxyMed Inc. (Atlanta) said it will file its annual Form 10-K with the Securities & Exchange Commission on or before March 30, allowing the company to incorporate information about PlanVista, which it acquired on March 2 (EHI, November 2004).

ADAM RENEWS MEDLINE ACCOUNT
Adam Inc. (Atlanta) said that it has renewed an account to provide healthcare information to the National Library of Medicine’s Medline Plus web site for the fourth straight year. The National Library of Medicine is operated by a unit of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services.

COMMUNITY HEALTH PLAN UPGRADES TRIZETTO SYSTEM
Community Health Plan, the HMO operation of Heartland Health (St. Joseph, MO), will install an upgraded version of Trizetto Group’s Facets back-office administrative system, which includes electronic technology to help manage health reimbursement accounts. Community is an existing Trizetto client.

IS QUOVADX ON THE SALE BLOCK?
Beleaguered Quovadx Inc. (Englewood, CO) will initiate a search for a new leadership team after ousting chief executive Lorine Sweeney and chief financial officer Gary Scherping.

BCBS-TN TO PAY DOCS FOR ONLINE VISITS
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee (Chattanooga, TN) will pay physicians for completing online office visits with certain patients over the next 12 months as part of the company’s broader program to compensate doctors for non-traditional services, including telephone consultations and group visits.

eHealth and information services stocks delivered a total return of 108% in 2003, according to an EHI tally of 23 leading issues.

HARVARD EXPANDS DIRECT DOC CONNECT
Harvard Pilgrim (Wellesley, MA) will offer physicians using practice management, claims and revenue cycle management software from AthenaHealth (Waltham, MA) the ability to direct connect to the health plan for eligibility verification, claims status,remittance advice and other HIPAA transactions.

BLUE SHIELD-CA OFFERS BENETRAC ONLINE ENROLLMENT
Blue Shield of California (San Francisco) is offering employer groups with 51 to 1000 employees the opportunity to use web-based enrollment services from BeneTrac (San Diego, CA) at no extra charge.

AETNA TAPS IBM FOR 5-YEAR SYSTEM UPGRADE INITIATIVE
Aetna Inc. (Hartford, CT) will utilize consulting and information technology services from a team of 300 IBM Corp. professionals over a five-year period to revamp legacy systems and integrate new technologies to support business processes, product development and customer service.

BCBS-VT TAPS CHOICELINX FOR ONLINE ENROLLMENT
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (Barre, VT) has signed a multi-year license to use online enrollment and benefits technology from Choicelinx (Manchester, NH).

HARVARD PILGRIM TAPS DUCK CREEK FOR ONLINE QUOTES
Harvard Pilgrim (Wellesley, MA) will use technology from Duck Creek Technologies (Bolivar, MO) to provide brokers with online quotes and electronic renewal of small groups.

GENERAL ATLANTIC SINKS ANOTHER $8.75 MM INTO PROXYMED
General Atlantic Partners (Westport, CT) has exercised warrants to purchase another 549,279 shares of ProxyMed (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) common stock for $8.75 million or $15.93 per share.

WEBMD TO ACQUIRE DAKOTA IMAGING
WebMD (Elmwood Park, NJ) has agreed to acquire Dakota Imaging (Columbia, MD) for $65 million in cash, including $40 million upfront and $25 million over three years if certain performance goals are reached.

eDIETS STOCK PLUMMETS ON BIGGER-THEN-EXPECTED LOSS
eDiets (Deerfield Beach, FL) saw its stock price drop 24% to $5.34 on April 6 after the company announced that first-quarter 2004 net loss would be wider than expected while earnings would fall short of expectations.

CLAIMSNET TRIMS ’03 NET LOSS; REVENUES FALL
Claimsnet (Dallas) reported a net loss of $535,000 in 2003, compared to a net loss of $2.927 million in 2002.

NDCHealth Corp. (Atlanta) has named Charles Miller president, reporting to Walter Hoff chairman and chief executive.

eHEALTH, INFO SERVICES STOCKS DOWN 4%
eHealth and information services stocks fell 4% in the two weeks ended March 26, according to a tally of 25 issues tracked by EHI.
