WEBMD ACQUIRES VIPS FOR $160 MILLION
WebMD (Elmwood Park, NJ) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Vips Inc. (Baltimore) for $160 million in cash and assumed liabilities.

SCIQUEST-TRINITY DEAL APPROVED
SciQuest Inc. (Research Triangle Park, NC), a provider of electronic supply chain software and services, announced that its shareholders have approved the sale of the company to Trinity Ventures (Menlo Park, CA) for $25.25 million in cash.

QUADRAMED ACQUIRES TEMPUS
QuadraMed Corp. (Reston, VA) has acquired Tempus Software (Jacksonville, FL) for $13.4 million, including $5.8 million in cash and 2.559 million shares of stock.

TRIZETTO GAINS OFFSET ALTIUS LOSS
Trizetto Group (Newport Beach, CA) reported that growth in revenues from health plan clients for hosting, software maintenance and consulting services more than offset the loss of the Altius Health Plan account (EHI, July 2003), which was worth $18 million in annual revenues.

2Q FINANCIALS: ADAM; ALLSCRIPTS; ECLIPSYS; NEOFORMA
Adam Inc. (Atlanta) reported second-quarter net income of $315,000, up 150% from the same period a year earlier, on essentially flat revenues of $1.933 million.

eDIETS TO TRIM AD SPENDING 6-11%
eDiets.com (Deerfield Beach, FL) announced that because of the tight market for online advertising and improving cost per acquisition trends, the company will cut back its projected ad spending 6% to 11% in 2004 to between $31 million to $33 million.

HEALTH NET SIGNS NETWORKING CONTRACT WITH AT&T
Heatlh Net (Woodland Hills, CA) has renewed a contract to utilize voice and data networking solutions from AT&T (New York).

MEDCO PROCESSES 3.8 MM ONLINE SCRIPTS IN 1Q
Medco Health Solutions (Franklin Lakes, NJ) processed 3.8 million online claims in the first quarter of 2004 through the company’s Medco.com web site.

HHS AWARDS $2 MM FOR eHEALTH INITIATIVES
