MCKESSON TO BUY PER-SE FOR $1 BB
McKesson Corp. (San Francisco) will expand its presence in the hospital revenue cycle and physician practice management software market through the acquisition of Per-Se Technologies (Atlanta) for $28 per share in cash plus assumed debt for a total purchase price of about $1.8 billion.

Emdeon Corp. (Elmwood Park, NJ) said it had completed the sale of 52% of its business services segment to an affiliate of private equity firm General Atlantic (Westport, CT) for $1.2 billion in cash (EHI September).
