BCBS-KC IMPROVES CLAIMS PROCESSING
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City (Kansas City, MO) is processing 15% more claims per day since implementing workflow software from Trizetto Group (Newport Beach, CA), according to a Trizetto press release.

AHIP, BCBSA TEAM UP TO CREATE PHR
America’s Health Insurance Plans (Washington) and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Assn. (Chicago) have developed a personal health record model that they say will give consumers greater access to their claims and administrative information.

EMERGING HEALTH WINS BRONX RHIO PACT
Emerging Health Information Technology (Yonkers, NY) has won a contract to design, implement and support Bronx RHIO, an electronic medical record effort aimed at giving providers access to patient information at the point of care.

AXOLOTL WINS RHIO PACT; TAPS LYNCH FOR SALES
Axolotl Corp. (Mountain View, CA) announced that it has won a contract to provide electronic medical record technology to Quality Health Network (Grand Junction, CO), a regional health information organization (RHIO).

WEBMD COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF SUBIMO
WebMD Health Corp. (New York) has completed the acquisition Subimo (Chicago), a provider of hospital and physician cost and quality data, for $60 million in cash and stock.

NEW YORK HEART CENTER SAVES ON TRANSCRIPTION COSTS
The New York Heart Center (Syracuse, NY) said it eliminated all transcription costs in 60 days after installing electronic medical records technology from Medinotes (W. Des Moines, IA), resulting in nearly $300,000 in saving.

EMDEON BUYS 129.2 MILLION SHARES
Emdeon Corp. (Elmwood Park, NJ) announced that the company will purchase 129.2 million shares, which were tendered as part of the company’s recent tender offer, at $12 per share.

TRIZETTO FULL-YEAR ’06 NET AT TOP OF GUIDANCE RANGE
Trizetto Group (Newport Beach, CA) said it expects its fourth-quarter and full-year 2006 results to be near the top end of its guidance range of $0.28 to $0.33 per share on revenues of $330 million to $340 million.

QUADRAMED WINS $3.4 MM CONTRACT WITH INOVA HEALTH
QuadraMed (Reston, VA) has won a $3.4 million contract to provide Inova Health System (Falls Church, VA) with software to manage patient information in northern Virginia.

eHEALTH, INFO SERVICES STOCKS RISE 0.3% IN 2 WEEKS
eHealth and information services stocks rose 0.3% in the two weeks ended Dec. 22, according to a tally of 19 issues tracked by EHI.
