TRIZETTO TO BUY QCSI IN $134.2 MM DEAL
Trizetto Group (Newport Beach, CA) has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Quality Care Solutions Inc. (Phoenix, AZ) for $133 million in cash plus the assumption of $1.2 million in debt.

SYSTEMS XCELLENCE 2Q06 NET RISES
Systems Xcellence Inc. (Milton, Ontario) saw its stock price close at $17.11 on Sept. 18, up 48% since completing its $38.7 million initial public offering in the U.S. in June.

ZIX CUTS CASH BURN, REAFFIRMS OUTLOOK
Zix Corp. (Dallas) said it expects the company’s total negative cash flow to fall from $5.5 million in the second quarter of 2006 to $5 million for the entire year 2007, as a result of previously announced cost-cutting measures.

Premera Blue Cross (Spokane, WA) will utilize claims editing software from health information company Ingenix, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group (Minnetonka, MN) under a multi-year contract.

CAREFIRST TAPS TRIZETTO FOR CLAIMS SOFTWARE
Trizetto Group (Newport Beach, CA), announced that CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield (Bethesda, MD) will use its claims re-pricing software to automate the administration of provider contracts.

eHEALTH, INFO SERVICES STOCKS FALL 2% IN 2 WEEKS
eHealth and information services stocks fell 2% in the two weeks ended Sept. 29, according to a tally of 19 issues tracked by EHI.
