MANAGED CARE STOCKS FALL 1.8%
Managed care stocks fell 1.8% in the two weeks ended Nov. 9, according to an MHMR tally of 13 issues.

MA HMO NET INCOME DECLINES 16.5% IN 2006
HMOs in Massachusetts posted net income of $295.4 million in 2006, down 16.5%, on revenues of $10.155 billion, up 8.3%, according to an MHMR tally of state insurance department data.

WA HMO NET INCOME CLIMBS 109.9% IN 2006
HMOs in Washington posted net income of $268.8 million, up 109.9%, on revenues of $2.914 billion, up 6.5%, in 2006, according to an MHMR tally of state insurance department data.

PA HMOs POST 83% INCREASE IN NET INCOME IN 2006
HMOs in Pennsylvania generated net income of $554.2 million, up 83%, on revenues of $15.812 billion, up 8.9%, in 2006, according to an MHMR tally of state insurance department data.

3Q07 MCO NET RISES 12.6%
Third-quarter 2007 net income among 15 top managed care organizations rose 12.6% to $3.068 billion on revenues of $58.405 billion.

UNITEDHEALTH TO ACQUIRE FISERV HEALTH
UnitedHealth Group (Minnetonka, MN) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire substantially all of the health-related businesses of Fiserv Inc. (Brookfield, WI), including the company’s third-party administration operations, for $775 million in cash.
