HIGHER HSA CONTRIBUTIONS APPROVED
President Bush signed into law this month legislation that allows people to fund their HSAs up to the annual limit of $2850 single, $5650 family in 2007 regardless of their health plan’s annual deductible.

TOP MCOs HAVE 4.457 MM HSA, HRA LIVES
As of Sept. 30, 2006, 25 leading managed care organizations had a total of 4.457 million HSA and HRA lives combined, according to an HMN tally.

HUMANA GUARANTEES RATES IN CDHP PLAN
Humana Inc (Louisville, KY) says it will guarantee annual premium rate increases of no more than 6% to businesses in Illinois with 59 to 99 employees who sign up for a unique three-year health plan package designed to transition members to consumer-directed healthcare.

CDHP MEMBERS AREN’T SATISFIED, STUDY SAYS
A study from the Kaiser Family Foundation (Menlo Park, CA) found that members of consumer-directed health plans aren’t as pleased with the plans as members of more traditional health plans.
